How often should a holiday villa be professionally cleaned?

Between every guest, weekly, or a deep clean each season? The right cleaning schedule for a Marbella villa depends on how it's used. Here's a simple guide.

A villa on the Costa del Sol works hard — sun, pool, sand and guests all take their toll. How often you should clean it depends mostly on one thing: how the property is used.

Holiday rentals: clean between every stay

If you let your villa to guests, it needs a full changeover clean between every booking — fresh linen and towels, a thorough clean and a guest-ready finish. This protects your reviews and keeps bookings coming. Add a periodic deep clean between busy runs.

Second homes: regular upkeep plus deep cleans

For a second home you visit through the year, a regular clean (weekly or fortnightly) keeps dust, pool debris and the Mediterranean climate at bay, with a full deep clean at the start and end of the season. Ongoing housekeeping keeps everything running between visits.

Before you arrive, and after guests leave

The two moments that matter most: a pre-arrival clean so the villa is fresh, aired and spotless when you or your guests walk in, and a post-departure clean to reset it afterwards. Both are part of good property management.

A simple rule of thumb

Rented villa → clean between every guest. Lived-in second home → weekly or fortnightly, plus seasonal deep cleans. Empty much of the year → a regular check and clean, and always a clean before arrival. Not sure what your villa needs? Tell us how you use it and we'll suggest a simple schedule.
